PROFIBUS is an open, digital communication system with a wide range of applications, particularly in the fields of factory and process automation. It is suitable for both fast, time-critical applications and complex communication tasks. Various devices are available that can communicate via Profibus DP to allow for the cost effective I/O expansion of a Profibus DP network and interface to other protocols such as HART, Modbus or even simple Serial devices. The first products to be added are the Profibus DP to Modbus RTU (GW-7552) and Profibus DP to Modbus TCP (GW-7553) gateways. The GW-7552 will act as a Profibus DP-V0 Slave and allow connection of Modbus RTU/ASCII devices to a Profibus network. For example, the Modbus devices could include the M-7000 Series of Data Acquisition units or the PM Range of Energy Meters. The GW-7553 has the same capability but can also act as a Profibus DP-V1 slave and convert to Modbus TCP protocol. |

Modbus TCP to RTU / Modbus ASCII Gateway

The tGW-715 Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU (or Modbus ASCII) tiny Gateway is a simple device to enable Serial Modbus devices to be routed via an Ethernet network, rather than the traditional RS-485 cabling system. Additionally the device is also Power-over-Ethernet capable (with a suitable switch), further simplifying the installation process. Configuration is achieved via the units on board web server. Its compact casing is made from Halogen free, Fire retardent materials (UL94-V0 Level), while it is designed to maintain a low power consumption. |
